In celebration of the Filipino Elderly Week, the Provincial Government of La Union conferred the awards to the Ten (10) KaProbinsiaan Senior Citizens who have made invaluable contributions to their communities and to the province as a whole.

The awarding ceremony on the “Sampung Natatanging Nakakatanda” ng La Union was held on October 8, 2023 at DMMMSU-NLUC International Convention Center, Bacnotan, La Union.

Governor Raphaelle “Rafy” Ortega-David appreciated the valuable wisdom, experience and unwavering dedication of these Sr. Citizens whom she called “legends” who brought prestige and honor to their respective communities.

Office of Sr. Citizens Association (OSCA) president Mrs. Magdalena Bacagan of Santol, La Union bested fourth place among the “Sampung Natatanging Nakakatanda “ng La Union. According to her, she was filled with humility in receiving that prestigious Plaque of Recognition and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution which she presented later on in one of the Monday flag-raising ceremonies in the covered court of the municipality knowing fully well that her performance was not as exemplary as the other contenders.
