The Local Government Unit of Santol under the able leadership of Honorable Mayor Engr. Magno A. Wailan has received another set of prestigious awards on health and nutrition towards the end of the year.
On November 23, 2023, the municipality of Santol received the 2022 Green Banner Seal of Compliance and Gawad Parangal Ng Nutrisyon awards during the awarding ceremonies of the National Nutrition Council held at its Regional Office 01.
In a simple yet very cordial ceremonies initiated by PGLU-PHO on December 11, 2023, Santol was also recognized by the Provincial Government of La Union as one of the top performing LGU’s as pillars and champions of health thru the 2023 Gawad Kalusugan Award due to its commendable performance on the following areas:
- Best performing LGU on the 2023 Scorecard with 100% accomplishment on Localized High Impact Health Policy Reforms
- Best Performing LGU on the 2023 Scorecard due to its strategic thrusts to ensure equitable health financing and improved performance of the LGU
- Best Performing LGU in the implementation of Environmental Sanitation Program
- Santol for being accredited by the Department of Health as one of the primary care facilities
The Gawad Ng Kalusugan Award (Banwar ti Salun-at and 2nd placer on TB Case Detection rate) was also received by the municipality.
The awarding ceremonies hosted by DOH-CHD, Regional Office 01 was held on December 15, 2023 at Thunderbird Resort, San Fernando City.
The municipality for calendar year 2023 was indeed very rewarding, yes, another flying colors on its wings to be added in its memorabilia: METAMORPHOSING SANTOL in the making.
